are you serious?

i found this ad on a classified website today. sort of funny. i cant believe people actually do this.

"Hi. I'm looking for a pet sitter for my cat while I am away at Christmas. He requires 2 pills per day (one in the morning and one in the evening) but this is very easy to do. He is friendly and gentle elderly cat. I will be away for approximately 2 weeks. Please email me with what you would charge per day and what experience you have."

It's actually quite common. I have a friend with a cat with diabetes, and another who has spent a lot of time and money caring for their pet. Whenever she went away she was very cautious about who took care of her pet.

I personally can't relate, but I do appreciate the compassion.

seriously....
a cat?
a cat should never need more pills than a human.

have i ever told you about the classified ad we found in the star phoenix at work one day?
the person stated they had found two loaves of bread down town and they took them home and froze them just incase anyone was looking for their missing bread.
left a phone number and everything.
i hung it on my fridge for months.
i still maintain it was code for some type of drug deal, but still. how ridiculous.

people are weird.

I am surprised you even found that ad strange. Thats a completely normal ad to see. Thats why there are pet sitting services everywhere around the world. And they do quite well actually. I am always extremely concerned about who watches my dogs while I am away. And if they required pills everyday, like her cat did, then I'd be even more concerned. Pets are like family members to some people. Her cat could be diabetic or have other problems that require the pills.

ps. you totally knew I was going to comment on this didn't you? How could I not.
